Schouw Stein variant for freestanding stove

Special Stein mantelpiece

This Stein mantelpiece is exactly the same as the standard Stein mantelpiece, except that the bottom beam has been omitted. While the bottom beam of a built-in fireplace creates a frame around the fireplace together with the other natural stone panels, this version of the Stein omits the beam and makes room for a freestanding fireplace.

Floor plate and wall tiles

A beautiful option for this mantelpiece is a floor plate (as shown) made from the same type of natural stone as the mantelpiece itself. It is not necessary for a gas fireplace, but it does look very elegant. If you also combine this with a tiled back wall in the same type of stone, you will have a fantastic overall look. The mantelpiece and fireplace will complement each other.
