Liverpool, a traditional English fireplace surround

Our Liverpool fireplace surround reflects the city’s rich history. It’s a surround with music in it, because Liverpool is, of course, the hometown of the Beatles.

Style, class and history

Bring British history into your home with this fireplace surround, in any of our 32 types of stone, without making it feel too classical. We call it stately. It blends several architectural styles found in the famous `port of Liverpool`.

Spanish fireplace surrounds

Our fireplace surrounds are specially made to measure. Each one is unique to both you and us. Every surround is drawn up individually. We send you the drawing for final approval, then place the order for you in Spain, where our craftspeople make the surrounds. And yet, the average delivery time for a unique surround is just four weeks!

Unique natural stone

A natural stone fireplace surround is unique. It brings a piece of life, a piece of the earth, into your home. No two natural stone surrounds are the same, because every piece of rock is different. In our showroom, we have several surrounds on display, featuring as wide a variety of natural stone as possible. We supply surrounds and hearths in no fewer than 32 different types of natural stone, from extremely hard marble-like stones to French limestone.

Different finishes for a natural stone fireplace surround

Depending on the type of stone you choose for a modern or classic fireplace surround, various finishes are available. You can opt for a honed surround with a smooth, matte finish, or choose a shiny polished finish. For a truly distinctive effect, you can have your new surround sandblasted. This removes the softer areas of the stone.

Belgian bluestone

We distinguish between several grades of natural stone. Belgian bluestone is in the highest grade, making it one of the more expensive and exclusive types. It is widely used, and we can offer this particular stone with various finishes, including polished, light or dark honed, lightly or coarsely sanded, and sandblasted.

Protecting a fireplace surround

Natural stone is always porous. A polished marble type is naturally less vulnerable than limestone. We recommend treating the surround with an impregnating agent. We can supply a colourless impregnating agent with the surround if desired. If your new surround is in place and you would like its colour to be richer or darker, we can also supply an impregnating agent, optionally with a colour enhancer.

Extras

You can purchase a hearth slab and tiled wall in the same type of stone as the fireplace surround. The various types of stone are available at a range of prices.
